Report claims new AAA John Wick game is in early development, planing to expand the franchise beyond films

A new John Wick video game is reportedly in development, according to claims from a well-known PlayStation insider. While the franchise has previously seen a video game adaptation with 2019’s John Wick Hex, this would mark the first time the series receives a large-scale AAA title.

The report comes from insider TCMFGames, who stated that a big-budget John Wick game is currently in the early stages of production. No developer has been named at this stage, and there is no indication of a release window.

According to the same source, the project is intended to expand the John Wick universe beyond the films, suggesting the story may not directly follow the events of the movies.

It was also claimed that Lionsgate, the studio behind the John Wick film franchise, is planning a more regular release schedule for projects connected to the property. This approach would include films and other media, with the reported game forming part of a wider strategy to grow the franchise.

While details remain limited, the insider indicated that the title is expected to be a AAA action game. No gameplay features, platforms, or creative leads have been confirmed. The lack of concrete information suggests the project remains in an early phase of development.

At present, the only confirmed John Wick game is John Wick Hex, a tactical role-playing title released in 2019. Although it featured the likeness of Keanu Reeves, it differed significantly from the fast-paced action commonly associated with the films. The absence of a major console or PC action title has long been noted by fans of the franchise.

As with any unannounced project, the information should be treated cautiously. Neither Lionsgate nor any development studio has officially confirmed the game. Further details are expected to emerge if the project progresses beyond its current reported stage.
