KPRA revenue jumps 30% in six months
Sales tax on services hits Rs23.26b in July-December

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has collected Rs23.26 billion in sales tax on services during the first six months (July to December) of the fiscal year 2025-26, registering a 30 per cent increase compared to Rs17.92 billion collected in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
According to figures released by KPRA's media wing on Thursday, an additional Rs5.34 billion was recorded under sales tax on services, reflecting the expansion of the tax net and improved enforcement and planning across the province's services sector.
Overall, KPRA collected total revenues of Rs26.62 billion during the first half of the current fiscal year, including Rs23.26 billion from sales tax on services and Rs3.36 billion from Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC). In comparison, total revenues during the same period last year stood at Rs23.81 billion, comprising Rs17.92 billion from sales tax on services and Rs5.89 billion from IDC.
Director General KPRA, Fouzia Iqbal, lauded the performance of the authority's officers and staff, stating that the significant growth in sales tax on services was the result of effective planning, enforcement measures and tireless efforts by KPRA officials.
"The remarkable increase in sales tax on services reflects the team's sound strategy, hard work and professional competence. With the same commitment and organized approach, KPRA has the full potential to achieve its targets for the current fiscal year," she said.
The DG also expressed gratitude to taxpayers for their trust, cooperation and partnership, noting that their support played a vital role in KPRA's achievements. She further acknowledged the guidance and support of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the Chief Minister's Advisor on Finance Muzammil Aslam, terming their leadership crucial for implementing reforms and enhancing revenue collection in the province.
