Khanewal reviews flood shortcomings

KHANEWAL:

A meeting was held in Khanewal on Saturday to review shortcomings observed during the 2025 floods and to finalise advance preparedness measures for future flood emergencies.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid and attended by officers from the Irrigation Department, Rescue 1122, Health, Livestock, Agriculture, and Local Government departments.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khalid Abbas Sial and Assistant Commissioner Kabirwala Rana Aamir Liaqat were also present. Executive Engineer Head Sadhnai briefed the meeting on the current capacity of the barrage and steps being taken to improve water inflow and outflow management.
