Overflowing gutter near Mazar-e-Quaid: KWSC officers suspended

KARACHI:

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Friday took serious notice of sewerage overflowing near Mazar-e-Quaid on December 25, 2025, during his visit to the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation.

Expressing strong displeasure over the lapse, the chief minister directed immediate action against the officials responsible.

Consequently, Ali Ahmed, Executive Engineer Sewerage, KWSC, Jinnah Town, and Qamar, Sub-Engineer, KWSC, Jinnah Town, have been suspended with immediate effect until further orders.

During this period, both officers will report to the office of the KWSC's managing director.

Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, meanwhile, instructed authorities to take urgent measures to improve cleanliness and the sewerage system citywide, stressing that negligence at public or sensitive locations will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against defaulting officers.
