ISLAMABAD:

Nepra on Thursday took strict notice of reports that electricity distribution companies have stopped registering new net metering applications, terming the move highly alarming and in violation of existing regulations.

In directives issued to all DISCOs, including K-Electric, the regulator said it had observed that the registration of new net metering requests had been suspended across several power utilities.

Nepra described the development as a matter of serious concern, noting that such actions directly contravene the prevailing legal and regulatory framework governing net metering in the country.

Zahrah Saud Chaudhary | 3 weeks ago | Reply Consumers should have options to choose electricity supplier according to their choice just like the mobile phone operators. It will end the monopoly of few DISCOs.
