Unclaimed newborn up for adoption

Officials say eligible, financially stable, childless couples residing in Islamabad can apply

The district administration of Islamabad has issued a public notice inviting applications from eligible residents who wish to adopt an unclaimed newborn baby.

The announcement has been made by the Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory, to ensure the lawful and transparent adoption of the child. According to the notice, the district administration has taken custody of a newborn baby who remains unclaimed. To secure the child's future care and guardianship, the administration has opened the process for adoption under prescribed rules.

The opportunity is available for Islamabad-based, financially stable, childless couples who are interested in adopting a child. Interested applicants have been advised to obtain the official application form from the Head Clerk (General Branch) at the Deputy Commissioner Office, located in Sector G-11/4, Islamabad. The administration has clarified that only applications submitted on the prescribed form and through the designated office will be considered.

Applicants are required to submit the completed application along with all required documents to the same office. These documents will be reviewed by the relevant authorities as part of the adoption process. The notice states that the last date for submission of applications is January 2, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The district administration has emphasised that the adoption process will follow legal procedures to protect the rights and welfare of the child. Officials will examine the eligibility of applicants to ensure that the child is placed in a suitable household. Further steps, including verification and approval, will be carried out as per applicable laws and administrative guidelines.

Citizens have been advised to carefully review the requirements before applying and to submit complete documentation within the given timeframe. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be processed.
