RAWALPINDI:

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested three suspects for allegedly impersonating FIA officials and blackmailing a female student of the Postgraduate College of Nursing, Hayatabad, following a complaint filed by the victim.

According to officials, the suspects posed as an FIA inspector and officials and contacted the college principal, deceiving her into handing over the student's mobile phone. The phone was taken from the student without her consent and unlawfully given to the fake FIA officials. The student later approached the NCCIA, prompting action by the NCCIA Peshawar team.

The arrested suspects were identified as Hammad Khan, Muhammad Hasnain and Fawad Hussain. During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspects illegally accessed data on the student's mobile phone, took private and objectionable photographs, and used them to blackmail her. They also attempted to gain access to her email and social media accounts and shared the objectionable material with one another via WhatsApp.

Investigators further found that the suspects used fake FIA uniforms to pose as law enforcement personnel.
