UoP to expel illegal hostel residents

The University of Peshawar (UoP) has decided to take action against those persons who are illegally residing in university hostels.
The decision is aimed at ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of academic activities and to discourage elements causing disruption to the academic environment.
Key decisions include the immediate eviction of unauthorized individuals residing in university hostels and strict action against students found providing hostel accommodation to non-students.
The university administration has also resolved to launch an awareness campaign and to review and update the existing code of conduct in order to further improve the academic atmosphere. Students found violating the code of conduct will face strict disciplinary action. Additionally, instructions have been issued to formally hand over completed development projects at the UoP to the university administration under the Peshawar Uplift Programme Phase-II.
These decisions were taken during a meeting chaired by Peshawar Division Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud, which focused on maintaining uninterrupted academic activities and discouraging factors adversely affecting education at the university.
The meeting was attended by the Commandant of the University of Peshawar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Planning) Peshawar, the Director Administration University of Peshawar, the Deputy Director Peshawar Uplift Programme Phase-II, and other relevant officers.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud said that the University of Peshawar is the largest and most historic educational institution in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, attracting students not only from across the province but also from other parts of Pakistan and abroad. He emphasized the need to provide students with a peaceful and conducive learning environment while firmly discouraging all elements that negatively impact academic activities.
