Dismissal of school guards paused

The Punjab Education Department has ordered the immediate suspension of the dismissal process concerning daily-wage security guards employed in government schools across the province.
Earlier, on December 5, the department had issued a special directive instructing all government schools to terminate the services of security guards hired on daily-wage (daily-voucher) basis.
However, this order has now been temporarily withdrawn until further notice. In this regard, the Education Department has issued a fresh notification which instructs that all guards who had already been relieved of duty must be reinstated with immediate effect.
