Police have submitted a report to a sessions court opposing the registration of a case against the writer, producer and actors of the Indian film Dhurandhar, accused of showing a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) rally and images of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto without permission

The court was hearing an application seeking registration of an FIR against the film's makers for allegedly portraying a PPP rally and displaying images of the party's former chairperson in the movie.

During the hearing, the SHO of Darakhshan police station submitted his report, stating that attempts were made to contact the complainant on the provided phone number, but no contact could be established. The applicant also failed to appear before police to verify his allegations.

The report said that all the nominated accused are Indian nationals and neither their residence nor business interests are located in Pakistan. It further stated that all scenes of the film were shot outside Pakistan and no evidence was found to suggest that any part of the shooting took place within the country. Therefore, according to law, registration of a case was not warranted.

The application was filed by PPP worker Aamir Khoso, who contended that the film had shown a party rally and images of the former PPP chairperson without permission. He further alleged that Karachi, particularly Lyari, was portrayed as a hub of terrorism in the film, which could damage the image of Pakistan as well as the reputation of the PPP.

Raj | 1 hour ago | Reply Instead of filing complaint against the movie investigate all the characters from Lyari that are true. All the terrorist and gangster characters have been studied from Pakistani newspapers and court documents. Just read the story of Rehman Dakait. That is a true story. He had connections with the politicians. Here is a AI search on a character Jameel Jamali - Yes Rakesh Bedi s character Jameel Jamali in the movie Dhurandhar is widely reported and acknowledged by Bedi himself to be inspired by real-life Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol. Pakistani public should ask hard questions of their politicians and police on the characters from the movie that were true and are destroying Pakistan rather than file cases against director who has created a master piece
Babur | 1 hour ago The real question here is why are Indians making Bollywood films about a country and a people other than their own Indians should make movies about their own country and people instead of making propaganda films about Pakistan.
