KARACHI:

A PPP worker, Muhammad Aamir, has filed a petition in the court of district and sessions judge (South), challenging the unauthorised use of images of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, PPP flags, and political rally scenes in the trailer of the Indian film Dhurandhar.

The petitioner seeks registration of FIR against the film's director, Aditya Dhar, producers Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande, as well as actors Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Beni. The petitioner has also named cinematographer Vikas Nulakha, editor Shiv Kumar V Panicker, and other unidentified crew members in his plea.

The official trailer of Dhurandhar contains visuals of Benazir Bhutto, party flags, and scenes from political rallies that were used without permission.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam India's Dhurandhar, calling it "negative propaganda" targeting Lyari. "Lyari is not violence—it is culture, peace, talent, resilience. Next month, Mera Lyari will be released, showcasing its true face: peace, prosperity, and pride," his tweet said.
