'Chainsaw Man' season two Assassins Arc announced at Jump Festa 2026 with teaser
MAPPA confirms 'Chainsaw Man' season two, 'Assassins Arc', unveiling teaser with new assassins targeting Denji

MAPPA Studios has officially announced a second season of the Chainsaw Man anime, titled Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, during the Jump Festa 2026 event.
The announcement was accompanied by a new teaser and key visual introducing assassin characters who will target Denji’s heart in the upcoming storyline.
Chainsaw Man first premiered in 2022 and marked MAPPA’s adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. Following its debut, expectations for a continuation grew among viewers, though a second television season was not immediately produced.
Instead, MAPPA adapted the Bomb Girl arc as a feature-length film, also known as the Reze arc, which was released prior to the new season’s announcement.
At Jump Festa 2026, MAPPA confirmed that Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc is now in production. The teaser shown at the event focuses on the emergence of multiple assassins pursuing Denji, signalling a shift into the next phase of the story drawn from Fujimoto’s manga. No additional cast or staff details were disclosed alongside the reveal.
The studio did not announce a release window for the new season. However, with the Bomb Girl arc film having recently completed its theatrical run, industry observers and fans have suggested that the television series is likely to return in 2027. MAPPA did not comment on the expected episode count or how much of the source material will be adapted.
The Assassins Arc forms part of a broader sequence of storylines in the manga, which also include the International Assassins, Gun Devil and Control Devil arcs. Viewers familiar with the source material have noted that these arcs significantly expand the series’ scope and introduce new characters and conflicts.
MAPPA has not indicated how many manga arcs will be covered in the second season, stating only that production is underway. Further information is expected to be shared at a later date as development continues.
