Rob Reiner's comment revealing which movie he'd like to be most remembered for resurfaces after death
Remarks Reiner made about his body of work months before his death are being revisited amid investigations

An interview Rob Reiner gave a few months before his death, in which he reflected thoughtfully on his career and legacy, is drawing renewed attention following the deaths of the veteran film-maker and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.
During a wide-ranging conversation with Piers Morgan, Reiner was asked which of his many films he would most like to be remembered for. “People have their favourites. They, you know, and the cliché, we love all our children, even the bad ones,” he said, before explaining that one particular film held the deepest personal meaning for him.
"It's the one that meant the most to me because it's an extension of my personality."

“I always say Stand by Me to me is the one that meant the most to me,” Reiner said. “I don't know that it's the best, you know, it's for other people to decide, but it's the one that meant the most to me because it really is an extension of my personality and my sensibility.”
He described the film as a balance of humour, melancholy and emotion, adding that it was “closest to me of all the films I've done”.
Reiner also spoke warmly about When Harry Met Sally..., sharing an anecdote about viewers timing the film’s final scene to coincide with midnight on New Year’s Eve. He praised the performances, music and overall construction of the film, calling it “a great film” that was “beautifully acted” and “beautifully produced”.
The interview has resurfaced after Reiner, 78, and Michele, 68, were found dead at their Brentwood home on December 14.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as a homicide, and media reports have identified the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, as a suspect, though law enforcement has yet to confirm those claims publicly.
