Taylor Swift has confirmed that she used the revenue from her historic Eras Tour to make one of the biggest moves of her career: purchasing the master recordings of her early albums. The announcement came during a recent television appearance, where Swift reflected on the significance of finally owning the original versions of her music.

The Eras Tour, which concluded in December 2024 after nearly two years on the road, became the highest‑grossing concert tour in history, selling over $2 billion in tickets worldwide. Swift explained that the financial success of the tour gave her the resources she needed to negotiate and complete the purchase of her master recordings from the company that previously owned them, a milestone she has described as a lifelong dream.

Owning her masters gives Swift full autonomy over how her early catalog is used and distributed, marking a turning point in her ongoing effort to control her artistic legacy. She has long re‑recorded her earlier albums, releasing them as “Taylor’s Version” editions to reclaim her work and drive value toward her own rights.

Swift said she is immensely grateful to her fans, crediting their support and enthusiasm for the Eras Tour with making this achievement possible. She also acknowledged how meaningful it was to reclaim a part of her musical history that had once been out of her control.

The purchase of her masters comes amid a landmark year for the singer, which also included major creative milestones and heightened visibility in both music and pop culture.
