The Game opens up about Michael Jackson’s call to end his feud with 50 Cent
The Game says he once hung up on Michael Jackson after the pop icon called to help end his feud with 50 Cent in 2005

The Game has revealed a surprising story involving Michael Jackson’s attempt to intervene in one of hip-hop’s most famous feuds.
In a new interview on Club Shay Shay, The Game said the call happened in 2005, at the peak of the G-Unit fallout that defined an era of hip-hop.
According to The Game, his manager approached him backstage in Vancouver and said, “Michael Jackson is on the phone.” After holding for nearly 30 minutes, he finally heard the unmistakable soft tone of Jackson’s voice. The pop legend praised “How We Do,” calling the hit “magical,” and told The Game he admired the chemistry between him and 50 Cent despite their public feud.
Jackson then asked why the pair were at odds—and proposed the unthinkable: a reconciliation track for his next album, featuring both rappers squashing their beef on a Michael Jackson record. The Game said the suggestion stunned him, but because he was consumed by the conflict, he reacted impulsively and hung up.
He explained that at 24, the feud had become a defining part of his identity. With The Documentary climbing the charts and tensions with G-Unit at an all-time high, he couldn’t imagine standing next to 50—let alone recording with him on a Michael Jackson album.
Two decades later, The Game admits it was a young and reckless decision, especially given Jackson’s genuine attempt to bridge the divide. The moment has resurfaced during a wave of nostalgia for early-2000s hip-hop, reminding fans just how dramatic—and unpredictable—the rap landscape once was.
