HBO has officially confirmed that Euphoria Season 3 will premiere in April, more than four years after the Season 2 finale. Creator Sam Levinson shared new insights into the highly anticipated return during an HBO Max presentation in London, offering fans a first look at how the story will resume.

The announcement comes after years of speculation and excitement, as audiences eagerly await the next chapter in the teen drama's often dark and provocative narrative.

Season 3 picks up five years after the previous season, a time jump Levinson explained reflects the characters' progression through college and into early adulthood. Zendaya's Rue is reportedly "south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off." This setup promises to explore new challenges for Rue as she navigates the consequences of her past actions while trying to survive in unfamiliar territory.

Sydney Sweeney's Cassie is now living in the suburbs with Nate, and the pair are engaged. Levinson described her as "very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living."

He also confirmed that Cassie and Nate do get married, teasing that it will be "an unforgettable night," signaling major developments for some of the show's most high-profile characters.

Other returning characters are facing their own transitions. Jules, portrayed by Hunter Schafer, is attending art school while dealing with anxiety about her future as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility. Maddy has moved to Hollywood, working at a talent agency while pursuing her own side projects, and Lexi has become an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, whom Levinson called "absolutely delightful and a true icon."

Season 3 will feature a mix of returning cast members alongside newcomers, including Rosalía, Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler and Marshawn Lynch. Notably, several previous cast members, including Austin Abrams and Algee Smith, are not on HBO's current cast list. Storm Reid has said her character will not return, Barbie Ferreira left the series in 2022, and Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in 2023.

Euphoria follows a group of teenagers navigating addiction, relationships, crime, and betrayal, and has become one of HBO's most-watched series, praised for its raw depiction of youth and striking visual style.

Season 3 promises to deepen these stories while exploring how the characters have grown and changed, bridging the gap between their teenage struggles and the complexities of young adulthood.

Fans can expect a season filled with intense drama, high-stakes emotional moments, and the signature bold storytelling that has defined the series since its debut.
