Man awarded death penalty for killing wife

A sessions court on Friday handed down death penalty to a man for murdering his wife following a domestic dispute.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on the convict. Additional District and Sessions Judge Mirza Aurangzeb announced the verdict on proving the charges.

Zohaib Javed killed his wife during an argument and then attempted to flee by jumping from the house.

He fell from the roof, sustained injuries, and broke his leg, after which police arrested him in wounded condition.
