Over 400 young players compete at 3rd Qamar Zaman Junior Squash Championship
Winners include Anas Rafay, Mustafa Ahmad, Sohail Adnan, Yahya Asad, Abdullah Nawaz, Damia Khan, and Mahnoor Ali

The 3rd Qamar Zaman All Pakistan National Junior Squash Championship, sponsored by the BARD and Markhor Squash Foundations, concluded at the Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, Qayyum Stadium, on 24th November 2025, with a record turnout of more than 400 young athletes.
The national-level event, one of the largest junior squash tournaments in Pakistan, featured girls’ Under-15 and Under-19 and boys’ Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19 categories, with prize money totaling nearly 4,000,000 rupees.

Boys’ Categories:
• Under-11: Anas Rafay defeated Abdur Rehman Riaz (PAF) 3-2 (11/6, 9/11, 11/8, 10/12, 13/11)
• Under-13: M. Mustafa Ahmad (PB) defeated Fahad Khan (PAF) 3-0 (11/7, 11/1, 13/15, 11/5)
• Under-15: Sohail Adnan (SNGPL) defeated Danish Sikandar (KP) 3-0 (11/6, 11/5, 11/7)
• Under-17: Yahya Asad (PAF) defeated Mustafa Irfan (PAF) 3-0 (11/9, 11/7, 11/6)
• Under-19: Abdullah Nawaz (Wapda) defeated Sakhiullah Tareen (PB) 3-1 (7/11, 11/9, 11/5, 11/8)
Girls’ Categories:
• Under-15: Damia Khan (Sindh) defeated Sehrish Ali (Sindh) 3-2 (11/9, 8/11, 7/11, 11/7, 11/9)
• Under-19: Mahnoor Ali (KP) defeated Amna Malik (Wapda) 3-0 (11/2, 11/4, 11/5)
The championship was honored by the presence of former World Champion and KP Squash Association Chairman Qamar Zaman, who attended as Chief Guest. Other dignitaries included Dawood Khan, President of the KP Squash Association; squash legend Mohibullah Khan; Mansoor Zaman, General Secretary; and Wazir Muhammad, Finance Secretary of the KP Squash Association.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mehreen Dawood said:
“It’s always inspiring to see young players gather on one platform and showcase their talent, especially the girls. The strong participation of female athletes is truly encouraging. Tournaments like these provide invaluable learning experiences for emerging players. We are committed to supporting and improving the sports landscape of Pakistan at a national level. I congratulate the KP Squash Association and all the winners for a successful tournament and for displaying the true spirit of the game.”
The event showcased Pakistan’s rising squash talent and provided a competitive platform for young athletes aiming to follow in the footsteps of national and international champions.
