Park Chan-Wook's 'No Other Choice' gets special IMAX release after being leaked online

Neon and IMAX have revealed another trailer after announcing a special one-day-only IMAX release of the Korean filmmaker Park Chan-Wook's No Other Choice. His latest project since 2022's Decision to Leave, the film leaked online on November 20.

Nevertheless, social media users have compared the film to fellow Korean director Bong Joon-ho's Oscar-winning Parasite (2019), hyping it up as an equally strong contender for Best International Feature Film at the upcoming Academy Awards.

The December 8 IMAX screening is set to take place, 17 days ahead of the film's orignally-slated December 25 release in select theatres across the US.

Based on Donald Westlake's 1997 thriller The Ax, No Other Choice centres a man who loses his job of 25 years, thereafter planning to secure a new job by eliminating his competition.

Starring Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Hee-soon, Yoo Yeon-seok, and Cha Seung-won, No Other Choice received critical acclaim at the 2025 Venice Film Festival, TIFF and NYFF and also won Best Film at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards.
