Legend of Zelda movie leak shows Dichen Lachman reportedly as Impa
Live-action Legend of Zelda set leak suggests Dichen Lachman will play Impa alongside Zelda and Link in 2027 film

The Legend of Zelda live-action movie has taken a major step forward, with a new set leak suggesting Severance star Dichen Lachman has joined the cast.
The footage, shared by content creator Tony Olsen, was filmed in New Zealand and appears to show Lachman portraying Impa, a key character in the franchise.
Wes Ball, director of Maze Runner, is attached to helm the project and previously told Dexerto, “It’s going to be made by a fan for fans.”
The film is scheduled for release on March 26 2027. Earlier casting announcements revealed Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Princess Zelda and Link, respectively.
In the leaked video, Lachman is seen with long grey hair in braids, a long-sleeve tunic, a wide leather belt, and wielding a naginata-style blade. These elements closely resemble Impa’s design in Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity, where she serves as Zelda’s guardian. Fans online have widely speculated that Lachman is indeed playing Impa, noting the striking similarity to the character.
Additional footage shows Ainsworth as Link wearing a green tunic, indicating that the lead characters’ outfits are influenced by Breath of the Wild.
While Nintendo and Sony have not officially confirmed Lachman’s role, fan responses on social media and Reddit suggest excitement about the potential casting.
As the live-action adaptation progresses, the combination of costumes from multiple Zelda games hints at a mix of influences for the film.
