Dataminers uncover nine unannounced modes in Battlefield 6
EA does not appear to be prioritising their rollout, as Battlefield 6 already features 11 multiplayer modes

Dataminers have identified nine previously undisclosed multiplayer modes hidden within Battlefield 6 files, suggesting Electronic Arts (EA) and Battlefield Studios are developing a substantial wave of new content. The findings were first reported by Insider Gaming on X.
Before the launch of Season One, six new match types were detected in internal files. Two of those, Sabotage and Strikepoint, were later confirmed for the current season. The remaining four, Raid, Payload, Squad Shootout, and Tank Hunt, have not yet been officially announced.
A new round of digging has now revealed an additional five modes labelled as early “prototypes”: Convoy, Fantastic Four, Gunmaster, Touchdown, and Tug of War. Combined, the total number of unused or unreleased modes rises to nine.
The prototype tag indicates that these latest modes are still in early development. EA does not appear to be prioritising their rollout, as Battlefield 6 already features 11 multiplayer modes, with Sabotage and Ice Lock scheduled for release later this season.
While EA has not provided details, the mode names offer some clues. Gunmaster may resemble “Gun Game” in Call of Duty or the “Escalation” mode in Valorant, where players cycle through weapons as they secure kills. Tug of War could involve teams contesting shifting objectives in a prolonged back-and-forth battle.
There is currently no release window for any of the nine modes. With the final stage of the Season One roadmap set for December, it is likely that these additions will not appear before 2026.
Despite a mixed response at launch, EA’s latest first-person shooter continues to receive updates and adjustments. The discovery of nine unannounced modes indicates that the developers are preparing further expansions to the game’s multiplayer offering.
