70th National track cycling championship kicks off in Lahore
The championship will also serve as a talent hunt for upcoming international competitions

The 70th National Track Cycling Championship will begin on November 15 at Nishtar Park Velodrome Gaddafi Stadium Lahore and will continue for three days.
Teams from Gilgit-Baltistan Scout, Gilgit-Baltistan Association, SSGC, all four provinces and Islamabad are participating in the event. Both men and women will compete in elite and junior categories.
The championship will be held under the supervision of Chief National Commissioner Haroon General, whose Organizing Secretary Nisar Ahmed and Associate Secretary Ms. Maham Tariq will handle operational matters.
All participating teams will reach Lahore by tomorrow. A managers’ meeting is scheduled for November 14 at 4:00 PM at PSB Coaching Center during which licenses, jerseys and other documents will be verified. All necessary arrangements for accommodation, food and logistics have been finalized.
The opening ceremony will be held with a simple but dignified ceremony, while the closing ceremony will be held on November 17 at 2:00 PM. The chief guest of the closing ceremony will be Mr. Muhammad Saleem Butt, former President of PCF and founder of Tour de Pakistan Cycle Race.
More than 150 participants from across the country are expected to participate in the championship. There will be 20 events in the competition, through which 20 national champions will be crowned. The championship will also act as a talent hunt platform for the upcoming Road Championship to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After this event, a national training camp will be organized in Karachi to prepare the selected athletes to participate in the Asian Road Championship.
The Pakistan Cycling Federation has ensured comprehensive arrangements to make the 70th National Track Cycling Championship a successful and memorable one.
