Police probe mysterious death at birthday party

RAWALPINDI:

Police have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a 25-year-old man during a birthday party in Ratta Amral area.

A syringe containing an intoxicating substance was recovered near the deceased's body.

According to police, the body of Haris Butt was found in the house of his brother-in-law, Aakash.

Haris's father, Muhammad Khalid, filed a complaint stating that his youngest son, who was married twice, had gone with his wife, Farwah, on November 7 to attend Aakash's birthday party at Choki Mohalla.

Later, Farwah informed the family that Haris had died. When his father reached the spot, he found a syringe near the body. The father alleged in his written complaint that his son was administered a drug injection and demanded a thorough investigation. Police said there were no visible signs of torture on the body.
