CM Afridi to chair maiden cabinet meeting on 14th

The first official meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet under Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been scheduled, with the agenda also officially released.

According to official sources, the cabinet session will take place on November 14 and will be attended by 10 ministers, one special assistant, and two advisers. The meeting is expected to formally approve the communiqué of the recent peace Jirga.

The 53-point agenda includes several key matters. Among them, the approval of 25 government vehicles for district session judges will be discussed, along with a recommendation to increase toll plaza taxes on the Swat Expressway by 20 per cent. Various resolutions previously passed by the K-P Assembly will also be presented for implementation.

Other items on the agenda include lifting the ban on VIP vehicle purchases for the Governor and formally approving the "One Farmer, One Cow" initiative aimed at boosting agriculture and the rural economy. Special funds for the rehabilitation of affected communities in Tirah and North Waziristan are also expected to be approved to expedite recovery efforts.

Additionally, the provision of a bulletproof vehicle for a bench of the Peshawar High Court will be considered. Performance reports from various departments will be presented, and CM Sohail Afridi is expected to issue new directives to accelerate governance and development projects across the province.
