20th Century Studios has released the highly anticipated first teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2, reuniting Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep nearly two decades after the original film became a pop culture phenomenon.

Set to Madonna’s “Vogue,” the brief teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot but delivers a nostalgic punch. It shows Hathaway’s Andy Sachs walking into an elevator behind Streep’s iconic Miranda Priestly, who turns and says, “Took you long enough.” The simple exchange has already sent fans into a frenzy online.

The sequel to the 2006 hit will explore Miranda Priestly’s perspective as she navigates the decline of the print fashion industry, a timely reflection of today’s digital media landscape. Returning stars include Hathaway, Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. New cast members joining the film are Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Lady Gaga is also expected to make an appearance after being spotted on set.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is directed by David Frankel, who helmed the original film, from a script by Aline Brosh McKenna. Wendy Finerman and Karen Rosenfelt return as producers. The film is slated for theatrical release on May 1, 2026.

Based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel, the original The Devil Wears Prada earned critical acclaim for its witty portrayal of the fashion world and grossed over $326 million worldwide. The sequel aims to bring that same sharp humor and style to a new era of fashion and media.
