Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed all relevant ministries and institutions to accelerate work on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre, ensuring completion with state-of-the-art medical facilities under a coordinated strategy.
Chairing a high-level review meeting, the premier said that all administrative and technical bottlenecks hindering the project's progress must be resolved through inter-agency coordination, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
He stressed that the project should meet international standards of construction and healthcare provision, and instructed that a subsidiary medical centre be set up to serve the local population.
Shehbaz also directed that international medical experts be engaged where required to ensure the complex meets global benchmarks in healthcare and research excellence.
During the briefing, officials informed the prime minister that land acquisition for the Jinnah Medical Complex had been completed and a design consultant finalised. They added that third-party validation would be conducted as directed by the premier to ensure transparency and quality assurance.
Reaffirming his commitment to the project, the premier said the Jinnah Medical Complex was a flagship initiative to strengthen Pakistan's healthcare infrastructure and research capacity. He stressed the need for its swift completion to deliver timely benefits to the public.
