Unidentified gunmen opened fire at a shop in Korangi's Zaman Town late Monday night, killing two men and injuring a third, police said on Tuesday, adding that five more people were injured in shooting incidents elsewhere in the metropolis.
Police said that armed men opened fire at a roadside shop, killing two men on the spot and critically injuring another. Police and crime scene personnel reached the site soon after receiving information.
The deceased - identified as Noor Nabi, 40, and Ilyas, 32 - were shifted to the JPMC by Chhipa volunteers. The injured, Ismail, 25, is receiving treatment at the same hospital. Police said preliminary investigations suggest the attack may have been linked to personal enmity, though statements from eyewitnesses and the injured victim are being recorded to determine the motive.
The sudden gunfire created panic among residents, with many rushing out of their homes in fear. The provincial home minister directed the SSP Korangi to ensure a thorough investigation and immediate arrest of those responsible for spreading terror in the area.
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old man, Sajid, was injured in a shooting inside his home in the Jumma Himayati Goth, Bin Qasim.
