Warrants out for ex-AJK PM

ISLAMABAD:

A district and sessions court on Monday issued arrest warrants for former AJK prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in a case related to alleged misuse of a diplomatic passport.

The court directed authorities to arrest and produce Ilyas before the court in the next hearing.

Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal presided over the proceedings of the case.

During the hearing, Ilyas’ counsel filed an application seeking exemption from personal appearance, which the court rejected and it ordered the FIA to ensure compliance with the arrest order.

The court adjourned further proceedings until November 24.
