One more dengue death reported in Sindh

Province records 727 new cases in 24 hours; overall tally reaches 12,284 this year

Dengue fever has claimed another life in Sindh, raising the total number of deaths to 26 this year. According to the latest report issued by the Sindh Health Department, 727 new dengue cases were reported across the province in the last 24 hours, of which 269 were recorded in Karachi.

This year, the total number of confirmed dengue patients in Sindh has reached 12,284. The Health Department reported that 3,278 tests were conducted provincewide during the past 24 hours, with 1,919 tests in Karachi resulting in 269 positives, and 1,359 tests in Hyderabad Division confirming 458 new cases.

Health Secretary Rehan Baloch said the overall dengue trend is showing a gradual decline. During the last 24 hours, 103 new patients were admitted to government hospitals, while 72 were admitted to private hospitals. Meanwhile, 58 patients were discharged from government hospitals and 92 from private facilities after recovery.

Currently, 271 dengue patients are admitted in government hospitals and 171 in private hospitals across Sindh.

A total of 987 beds have been allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals across the province, including 256 in Karachi, 165 in Hyderabad and 566 in other districts.
