Man beaten to death over rivalry

Victim's wife had nominated attackers in a kidnapping case

TANDLIANWALA:

A 35-year-old man was beaten to death by six people with sticks and clubs over an old enmity related to a court case.

Police took the body into custody for post-mortem and handed it over to the family after registering a case.

According to the police, Ziarat Bibi, widow of Shaukat Ali, stated in her complaint that she had previously lodged an abduction case under Section 365-B at the Tandlianwala City Police Station against the accused Intizar and Irfan, residents of Fatehpur in Okara.

She said that she, her husband Shaukat and son Adnan were searching for her daughters who had gone missing when Intizar and Irfan, armed with sticks and clubs, attacked her husbandnear Chak No. 452 GB. They struck him on the neck, back, head and arms, leaving him critically injured.

He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Upon receiving information, Tandlianwala Saddar police took the body into custody for completing legal formalities and handed it over to the family afterwards.

A case was registered against the nominated and unidentified suspects under Sections 302, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and police said raids were under way to arrest them.
