Peshawar to host Peace Jirga

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government will convene the Pakhtunkhwa Peace Jirga on November 12, aimed at fostering sustainable peace, social harmony, and collective progress across the province.
In a press statement, Provincial Minister for Local Government, Mina Khan Afridi, emphasized that establishing peace remains the government's top priority, noting that development, prosperity, and public welfare are directly linked to lasting security.
The Peace Jirga will bring together key stakeholders, including religious scholars, political leaders, tribal elders, civil society representatives, and administrative officials. Minister Afridi highlighted that through inclusive dialogue and consultation, practical measures for maintaining peace will be proposed and implemented.
"Lasting peace is impossible without public participation," he said, adding that the government is committed to ensuring that all segments of society are represented on this platform. The jirga is expected to promote mutual trust, dialogue, and reconciliation, laying the foundation for stronger social cohesion and brotherhood.
