Two cops among 7 held for stealing at Steel Mills

KARACHI:

Bin Qasim Police have arrested a gang involved in stealing iron and copper from the Pakistan Steel Mills area, according to a spokesperson for District Malir Police.

The police carried out a raid based on confidential information and apprehended a group allegedly involved in theft of valuable materials from the Steel Mills vicinity. Seven suspects were arrested. During investigation, it was revealed that two police constables - Ibrahim and Faizan - were also part of the gang. A case has been registered against them.

Police recovered stolen copper and a rickshaw used by the suspects to transport the stolen goods which has been seized.

According to the police, the suspects used to sell the stolen scrap metal at various warehouses. Bin Qasim Police have registered cases against all the arrested suspects, including the police personnel, and have launched further investigations. Raids are ongoing to arrest remaining members of the network.
