PESHAWAR:

A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad and Justice Khurshid Iqbal, has stopped the Elementary and Secondary Education Department from recruiting Class-IV employees on a daily-wage basis.

The court also sought replies from the Education, Finance, and Establishment Departments in this regard.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by Muhammad Akbar Khan, president of the Class-IV Employees Association. During the proceedings, the petitioner's counsel, Advocate Arif Jan, informed the court that the provincial government had issued a notification on July 18, 2025, instructing all departments, including the Education Department, to hire Class-IV employees only on a daily-wage basis instead of permanent appointments.
