Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) G-10/4, on Thursday, organised vibrant and soulful programmes in connection with 'Iqbal Day'. The event highlighted the timeless vision, poetry and philosophy of the poet.
Guests were welcomed by an enchanting Iqbal Corner adorned with student's paintings, portraits and selected works of Iqbal, reflecting the students' reverence for the thinker who awakened a nation's consciousness. The ceremony commenced with the national anthem, followed by soulful Qiraat and Naat.
The Iqbal Day segment formed the heart of the celebration. Students presented Kalam-e-Iqbal (poetry of Iqbal), including the stirring "Laa phir ik baar wohi baad-e-saba paida kar" and "Ik fikr sikhaya hai". Following which, an eloquent English oration on "The Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam" enriched the programme, while a mesmerising tableau on "Lala-e-Sehra" and a spirited qawwali brought Iqbal's poetic imagery, message of Khudi and spirit of awakening to life.
Transitioning from the literary homage to leadership, the college proceeded with its Student Council Investiture Ceremony.
In her welcome remarks, the principal warmly greeted the chief guest, faculty and students.
