LAHORE:

The quarantine period for 12 giraffes imported from South Africa last month has been completed but are being kept in the enclosures due to smog, according to Punjab Wildlife Department officials.

Of the giraffes, nine have been allocated to the Lahore Safari Park, while three will be transferred to the Lahore Zoo. The animals were kept in quarantine at the Safari Park after their arrival to ensure health and acclimatization standards.

Due to prevailing smog conditions in the city, the giraffes are being kept inside their quarantine enclosures for additional safety, the officials confirmed.
