27th amendment bill likely to be tabled on Friday

ISLAMABAD:

The government has completed the framework for the 27th constitutional amendment and is expected to secure its approval from both houses of parliament by next week, sources told The Express Tribune on Tuesday,

According to the sources, the government has finalised the draft of the amendment and decided to present it first in the Senate before moving it to the National Assembly for approval. The proposed legislation is expected to be tabled in the upper house on Friday.

Sources said the Law Ministry and the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs have already conveyed the decision to the Senate Secretariat.
