Paralives Early Access Launches December 8 2025 as Gamers Debate Sims Rivalry
Indie life-sim Paralives sparks debate over potential challenge to The Sims amid concerns of EA’s ownership change

Indie developer Paralives Studio has confirmed that its life-simulation game Paralives will enter Early Access on December 8 2025 for PC and Mac on Steam.
The game features an open-world town, grid-less building tools, and a community-funded model primarily supported via Patreon.
Among its key selling points are flexible wall placement, curved and split-level floors, and a robust character creator called the “Paramaker”.
The developer states players will control careers, relationships, and households in a vivid town environment.
On X and Reddit, users are actively discussing Paralives’ potential to rival EA’s The Sims franchise. Some compare it to Cities: Skylines, which dethroned SimCity, while cautioning against hype based on recent mis-steps by similar titles.
The timing of the release comes amid scrutiny of EA’s recent acquisition by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, valued at US$55 billion.
Concern over possible content restrictions within The Sims universe has increased interest in a fully independent life-sim alternative.
With Early Access imminent, Paralives positions itself as a community-driven project offering a fresh direction in the genre. The team emphasises transparency, pledging free updates and expansions rather than paid DLCs.
