CTD, security agencies arrest two militants in Karachi
Authorities recover two 9mm pistols and hand grenade during raid

In a joint operation with security agencies, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested two militants affiliated with the Zainabiyoun Brigade involved in targeted killings in Karachi.
According to police, the suspects, identified as Israr Gilgiti and Masoom Raza alias Imran Mota, are linked to the assassination of Anas Rehman on University Road and other criminal activities. Authorities recovered two 9mm pistols and a hand grenade during the raid.
Officials revealed that the group operates from a neighbouring country and maintains facilitators involved in terror financing. The CTD and security agencies are conducting ongoing crackdowns against these networks.
Investigation into the suspects has uncovered further details about their intended targets. The group is believed to be connected to the killing of Abdul Rehman in Korangi, though links to the Nagan Chorangi incident remain unclear. Masoom Raza is listed on the Red Book of wanted individuals, police added.

DIG CTD stated that the group responsible for police killings has been identified, and operations against them are ongoing. Authorities have also identified three to four additional operatives involved in religious militancy.
The seized weapons are undergoing forensic examination. Continuous raids are being carried out daily, targeting other suspects. Despite challenges, police efforts have led to recent convictions in three CTD cases.
The Zainabiyoun Brigade is known to have a presence in multiple countries. In the Ins Rehman murder case, suspects reportedly lured him to the crime scene after depositing Rs60,000 into his account.
