LAHORE:

The Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) has written a third letter to the federal minister for finance and the minister for national food security regarding the closure of the Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR) S-Track portal.

In a statement, a PSMA spokesman said that the association had been repeatedly agitating for quite some time against the stoppage of sugar sale through the closure of S-Track portal. In this regard, many letters have been sent to both ministers with the request to intervene in the matter and issue instructions to the FBR not to block the portal and remove all restrictions so the smooth flow of sugar from mills to markets may be ensured.

It may be pointed out that for the past few weeks, he said, off-and-on switching of the portal has become a regular feature, which has never happened before.
