Over 880 teachers submit videos of their classroom practices

KARACHI:

The Best Teaching Practice Competition 2025, organised by the Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority (STEDA), culminated Thursday in a ceremony celebrating innovative and effective teaching methods among educators across the province.

The competition saw an impressive response, with 889 teachers from Sindh submitting videos showcasing their classroom practices. A total of 36 educators were ultimately selected and honored at the event, held at the Scouts Headquarters Auditorium in Karachi.

These winning submissions demonstrated exceptional use of modern techniques, including lesson planning, innovation, critical thinking, the use of technology and artificial intelligence, low-cost teaching materials, and strong communication skills paired with real-life examples.

Focus on professionalism and progress

The event underscored the government's push for advanced teaching standards. Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, addressing the gathering, urged teachers to move beyond traditional methods, stating that "best teaching practices are the ladder that take a teacher to excellence." Secretary School Education Zahid Ali Abbasi and STEDA Executive Director Syed Rasool Bux Shah also highlighted the importance of continuous learning for teachers and noted that the Teacher Licensing Policy has been introduced in Sindh to enhance the profession's respect and quality.

The initiative aims to promote professional creativity, healthy competition, and ultimately, improve the overall quality of education in the region.
