Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims has unveiled a new and unconventional design that has quickly become a viral talking point.

The launch, part of a limited capsule titled The Ultimate Bush, features minimal garments that appear to mimic vintage-inspired textures and tones, a playful nod to retro aesthetics.

Accompanied by a parody game-show style video campaign called Does the Carpet Match the Drapes, the product reveal features models in a 1970s television setting. The tongue-in-cheek tagline reads, “With our daring new Faux Hair Panty, your carpet can be whatever colour you want it to be.” Despite the humour, the launch has divided audiences online.

Within an hour of the campaign’s debut on social media, hundreds of comments poured in. Some users described the design as “creative and funny,” while others found it “unnecessary” and “confusing.” One comment read, “I just checked to make sure it’s not April 1st,” reflecting the overall disbelief among followers.

Kardashian is no stranger to attention-grabbing fashion concepts. Previous Skims releases — including the “nipple bra” and the “face wrap” shapewear — also prompted widespread conversation, often blurring the line between innovative design and online satire.

The entrepreneur previously hinted at her experimental direction last December, when she shared an image of a faux-fabric bikini reminiscent of the latest design.
