A well-known stage dancer, Muneeba Shah, was shot dead by armed assailants on Peshawar's Ring Road on Saturday, while a rickshaw driver sustained serious injuries.
According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Michani Gate Police Station, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a rickshaw carrying Muneeba Shah. She was struck multiple times and died on the spot, while the driver was critically injured.
Eyewitnesses told investigators that the attackers intercepted the rickshaw and fired several rounds before fleeing the scene. Police shifted the body to the morgue and the injured driver to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The complainant, Ahmad Faraz, registered a case against three suspects, Laiq, Shaukat, and Basheer Gul, alleging that they had repeatedly warned Muneeba Shah to quit dancing.
Police have launched an investigation into the case.
