Country music star and Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker has announced his engagement to girlfriend Emily Deahl. The South Carolina native shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday, October 8, with a heartfelt message and photos capturing the moment he proposed.
The announcement post featured a black-and-white photo of Rucker on one knee proposing to Deahl on a boardwalk, followed by an image of the couple smiling as Deahl showed off her diamond ring. In the caption, Rucker expressed his joy, writing, “Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.”
Although the couple has kept much of their relationship private, they went Instagram official in early September, when Rucker shared a photo of them outside the Sphere arena in Las Vegas with the caption, “Wizard of Oz at @spherevegas with my love & my boys. 1000/10!!!!!”
Deahl, who is also from South Carolina, is a singer, songwriter, and content creator. She has lived in cities like Los Angeles, Nashville, and most recently, London. Her social media platforms feature lifestyle content and original music, with recent releases on Spotify including “22,” “Tarantino,” and “Emily.” In a YouTube vlog from April 2025, she documented her move to London in January—the same month Rucker announced his temporary relocation there.
This will be Rucker’s second marriage. He was previously married to Beth Leonard, with whom he shares two children. Rucker also has a daughter from a previous relationship. He and Leonard separated in 2020 after 20 years of marriage.
Rucker is currently on tour, performing across the U.S. and Canada, and recently featured on Scotty McCreery’s song “Bottle Rockets” alongside Hootie & the Blowfish.
