Pooh Shiesty has wasted no time making headlines following his early release from federal prison on Monday.

Within hours of regaining his freedom, the Memphis rapper surprised fans by commenting “I love you” on one of Cardi B’s Instagram posts. The post featured Cardi performing her track “Check Please” from her latest album Am I The Drama?, which was released recently to widespread attention.

Cardi B, who is currently in a relationship with New England Patriots player Stefon Diggs, has not publicly responded to the comment. The couple confirmed in September that they are expecting their first child together.

The rapper’s comment quickly went viral prompting mixed reactions online.

Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., was released early after pleading guilty in 2022 to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking. The case stemmed from a 2021 shooting incident in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida.

Originally scheduled for release in April 2026, he has been transferred to a halfway house to complete his sentence.
