Netflix has officially greenlit a new competition series inspired by the beloved murder mystery board game and 1985 film Clue.

The upcoming unscripted show will transform the classic “whodunit” experience into a large-scale reality competition, blending mystery-solving with strategy and teamwork.

In the Netflix Clue series, contestants will take part in a mix of physical and mental challenges to uncover clues and piece together the identity of a fictional killer. Each episode will push participants to think like detectives, using logic and deception to outsmart their opponents. Players who correctly guess the suspect, location, and weapon will add money to the prize pool — while incorrect guesses could lead to elimination.

The show will feature familiar characters from the Clue universe, including Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlett, and Professor Plum. Produced by Hasbro Entertainment, The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), and B17 Entertainment — both part of Sony Pictures Television — the series is executive produced by Gabriel Marano, Zachary Edwin, Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman, Rhett Bachner, and Brien Meagher.

“Like so many families and friends over the years, we’ve gathered around the table trying to figure out who did it,” said Jeff Gaspin, Netflix’s VP of unscripted series. “With this show, we’re bringing that nostalgia to life in a fresh and imaginative way.”

The Clue competition follows Netflix’s earlier move to adapt Monopoly into a large-scale social experiment, signaling the streamer’s growing investment in game-based reality content. Both projects highlight Netflix’s push to blend entertainment nostalgia with innovative reality TV formats.
