RAWALPINDI:

A labourer in Chaklala area fell victim to an illegal kidney transplant gang after being lured away under the pretext of work. The crime came to light when the victim consulted a doctor for pain, who discovered that one of his kidneys had been removed.

According to police, the victim, Zain Ali, stated that two years ago, Jamshed and Irfan told his mother they had secured a new painting contract far away and that Zain would accompany them.

They took him in a black car, driven by a third person. During the journey, both men and a doctor offered him a juice box. After drinking it, he lost consciousness.

Five days later, Zain regained consciousness in the house of a man named Ameen alias Binyamin, where he found himself injured with a deep wound on the left side of his abdomen. When he inquired about his mother, Ameen told him she had gone to Lahore and would be called soon.

Later that evening, Zain's parents arrived and took him to Lahore for treatment, where doctors confirmed his kidney had been surgically removed.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
