Former One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are set to reunite for a new multi-million-pound Netflix documentary series, marking the first time the pair have worked together in years.

The show, currently in production, will follow Tomlinson and Malik as they embark on a road trip across the United States. Along the way, the two are expected to reflect on their lives, their years in One Direction, and the lasting impact of their late bandmate Liam Payne.

Payne died in 2024 at age 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, a tragedy that insiders say has brought the group closer together.

The project is expected to debut on Netflix in 2026, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of One Direction’s split.

It comes after Tomlinson, Malik, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles reunited at Payne’s funeral in November 2024, marking their first public appearance together since 2016.

A source described the series as “a chance for soul-searching and deep conversations about their journey from The X Factor to global superstardom.”

Tomlinson, 33, divides his time between the UK and the US, where his young son lives, while Malik, 32, has resided in Pennsylvania since 2018. Both have pursued successful solo careers since the band parted ways.

The road trip documentary is likely to focus more on the singers’ personal stories and reflections than on the places they visit.

The pair were recently spotted together in a New York bar during filming, though onlookers reportedly had no idea they were working on the Netflix project.

One Direction, formed on The X Factor in 2010, became one of the world’s biggest boybands, selling millions of records and winning multiple Brit, Billboard, and American Music Awards before disbanding in 2016.
