The death certificate of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas confirms that the cause of her death is currently deferred as authorities continue their investigation.

According to the document obtained by TMZ, Rivas was found on September 8, 2025, in a vehicle registered to singer D4vd (real name David Burke).

The certificate notes that an autopsy was performed, but toxicology results are still pending.

It also confirms that Rivas was not pregnant and had not been in the past year.

The teenager’s dismembered body was discovered in the front trunk of the Tesla in the Hollywood Hills. LAPD Captain Scot Williams told TMZ that determining whether Rivas died from foul play or other causes is critical for the ongoing investigation. Without the Medical Examiner’s findings, authorities cannot classify the death as a homicide.

D4vd continued his tour while police conducted their investigation but canceled his remaining US dates on September 19 after the connection between the teen and the artist became public. The release of the deluxe version of his album Withered was also paused.

Police reportedly searched D4vd’s Los Angeles residence for traces of blood and collected hair samples as part of their investigation.

Rivas was reported missing on April 5, 2024, from Lake Elsinore, California, when she was 13 years old. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
