Ariana Grande has joined the growing list of celebrities criticized by the White House after making comments indirectly aimed at Donald Trump and his supporters.
The Grammy-winning singer and actress reposted an Instagram Story on September 28, originally written by makeup artist Matt Bernstein, that questioned if Trump voters were satisfied with his presidency despite its impact on immigrants, trans people, and free speech. While Grande did not write the post herself, her repost was interpreted as her stance against the former president.
Kush Desai, a spokesperson for the White House, responded to Grande’s repost in a statement to TMZ. He suggested that the singer should focus on her career rather than politics and credited Trump with economic improvements and efforts against Ticketmaster, which benefited concertgoers. The statement ended with, “Get well soon, Ariana!”

This is not the first time Grande has criticized Trump. In June, she reposted a protester’s sign questioning deportation policies, sparking backlash and calls for her deportation from critics on X (formerly Twitter). Supporters pointed out that Grande was born in Boca Raton, Florida, to American parents of Italian descent, dismissing claims about her immigration status.
The White House’s criticism of Grande comes shortly after Trump’s appearance at the U.S. Open earlier this month, which caused delays and sparked tension with other celebrities. Figures such as Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Colbert were also publicly mocked by Trump’s team for their opposition.
Despite the political controversy, Grande continues to advance her career. She was recently cast in Meet the Parents 4, set to release in November 2026 alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller.
