LAHORE:

A Crime Control Department (CCD) official was assaulted and looted by four armed robbers in Batapur on Monday night.

The victim, identified as Umar Tariq, was returning home from duty when he was intercepted near Mandiala village.

Police said the suspects snatched his wallet and subjected him to severe torture before fleeing the scene.

"The robbers not only looted the official but also tortured him, leaving him with multiple injuries," a police official confirmed.

The injured officer was shifted to Lahore Services Hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.

Police cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Forensic teams examined the crime scene and collected evidence to trace the suspects. "We have initiated a thorough investigation and all available resources are being utilised to track down and arrest the culprits," a police spokesperson said.
